The A1 German Course introduces learners to the basics of the language. It focuses on everyday communication, simple grammar, and essential vocabulary. Students practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing to build a strong foundation for the next level — A2.

GUTEN TAG! – Begrüßung, Vorstellung und Befinden

In this module, students learn the fundamentals of social interaction in German. They practice greeting and saying farewellintroducing themselves and others, and asking about and responding to well-being. The focus is on building confidence in basic conversational skills and understanding polite expressions used in everyday situations.

Freunde, Kollegen und ich – Alltag und Beruf

In this module, students learn to talk about hobbies, work, and daily routines in simple German. They practice making and responding to appointments, naming the days of the week, and discussing professions and working hours. The module also covers numbers above 20 and filling out basic forms. By the end, learners will be able to communicate effectively about personal interests and work life in everyday situations.

Orte, Wege und Zeitangaben – Grundlegende Kommunikation

In this module, students learn to name places and buildings, ask and answer questions about locations, and identify means of transport. They also practice inquiring about objects, asking for directions, and describing a route. Additionally, learners become familiar with seasons and months, enabling them to communicate basic information about time and navigate everyday situations confidently.

Guten Appetit! – Einkaufen und Essgewohnheiten

In this module, students learn to plan and talk about shopping and meals in everyday situations. They practice conversations while shopping and eating, and learn to express preferences and opinions about food. The module also introduces essential vocabulary related to food, groceries, and dining culture, helping learners communicate confidently in restaurants, supermarkets, and daily life.

Alltag und Familie – Kommunikation im täglichen Leben

In this module, students learn to talk about daily routines, family, and time-related topics. They practice understanding and telling the time, making appointments, and arranging meetings. The module also includes telephone conversations and expressing apologies for delays. By the end, learners will be able to manage everyday situations politely and effectively in both personal and professional contexts.

Zeit mit Freunden – Freizeit und Feste im Alltag

In this module, students learn to communicate about leisure activities, special occasions, and social events. They practice talking about free time and birthdays, understanding and writing invitations, and ordering food and drinks in everyday contexts. Learners also train their listening skills by understanding event announcements and tips on the radio. By the end of this module, students will be able to engage confidently in conversations about free time, celebrations, and social gatherings in German.

Arbeitsalltag – Kommunikation im Berufsleben

In this module, students learn to understand and describe daily work routines and professional situations. They practice reading and writing blog entries about work life, understanding workplace conversations, and giving information about locations and processes. The module also covers writing and responding to simple letters and engaging in small talk at work. By the end, learners will be able to communicate effectively in everyday professional contexts and describe their work environment in basic German.
